Who are we?

Jackson Spreading has been part of Mid Canterbury farming since 2013 - founded by Alan 'Dusty' Jackson, and shaped by Jon, who joined just six months in and has been at the heart of the business ever since.

Today, Jon and Anna own and run Jackson Spreading together, and the values they've built it on have never changed.

What started as a one-man operation has grown into a trusted local company, built on knowing the land, knowing the people, and understanding what's at stake when a job needs to be done right. That's why Jon and Anna invest in the latest technology - including N sensors, VRC enabled trucks, and CTI for reduced compaction - so their clients can have full confidence in every application.

That commitment to innovation led Jon to Spikey®. In 2020, a newspaper clipping passed on by Anna's 95-year-old grandmother sparked his interest in a new technology being developed to reduce nitrogen leaching from dairy urine patches. Today Jackson Spreading operates one of the most advanced Spikey® machines in the country, capable of covering around 14,000 ha a year.

Jon is now a recognised ambassador for the technology, receiving the New Zealand Groundspread Fertiliser Association's Innovation Award for his role in adapting Spikey® for commercial contracting.

Once your job is complete, you'll receive a full GPS-guided proof of application report showing exactly what was applied, where, and when - giving you clear, verifiable records for compliance and peace of mind.

  • Our trucks are fitted with the latest N sensors and VRC enabled technology, ensuring the right product is applied at the right rate across every part of your property - even where soil or crop conditions vary.

  • All of our trucks are equipped with CTI, allowing us to adjust tyre pressure on the go. Less compaction means better care for your soil and less damage to your land.

  • We integrate with My Balance, Precision Tracking, and Hawkeye for complete oversight and accuracy on every job from start to finish.
